Over the past few months, Coronavirus also known as COVID-19 has swept across the globe and changed the course of how humans interact with one another. Due to the rise in cases, businesses global and local have had to adapt to social distancing practices in order to stay in business. Business owners are finding creative ways to help employees stay on course during this time. Here are some way businesses are practicing social distancing.

It is important to take precautions when interacting with people in order to maintain healthy. The CDC recommends washing hands for at least 60 seconds, wearing masks while in public and standing 6 feet apart. At McPherson Architecture, we take social distancing and the health of our employees very seriously. We wish everyone good health.

Expanding their Market

A problem many businesses are facing are trying to continue their product or service. Businesses like David Zamarin’s DetraPel was initially making stain resistant coating but he soon realized that product was not going to be marketable during these times. Instead, Zamarin shifted his focus to eco cleaner and disinfectant.

Outside the Box Thinking

Along with corporate businesses, the restaurant industry has taken a hard hit to sales. Aside from delivery and takeout, restaurants are starting to open again. However, they are continuing to take social distancing practices. Look at how some restaurants are thinking within a 6-foot radius.

A restaurant in Thailand uses dragon barriers to distance customers while they enjoy their meal.

A restaurant in Amsterdam offers a romantic night out without the spread of other people in their bubble. The waiter greets them with a face shield and serve guests on a wooden board to avoid direct contact.

Delivered to your front door

Most people are still apprehensive to go out in public for unessential items. But others are taking in the benefits of businesses that use delivery to front doors. The brand Carvana which is known for “used car vending machines” has widened their efforts to aid people in need of a car by delivering it directly to your door.

No excuses

Fitness studios and gyms were one of the first places to close during this time. Rather than toughing it out, fitness studios and gyms such as Planet Fitness or Corepower Yoga have opted for online classes so people can continue their workouts at home. Not only does this encourage people to continue their workout regimens, fitness studios are able to keep their clientele.
